Local guides shared captivating stories about the unique plant and animal species that thrive in its different climate zones. For instance, they learned that the mountain hosts over 1,200 plant species and forms a vital habitat for animals like the endangered Abbot's duiker.

Teachers encouraged students to critically examine the effects of climate change on Kilimanjaro. Visited Marangu Waterfalls. This discussion highlighted how rising temperatures have led to a significant reduction in the mountain's glaciers. Students were surprised to learn that these glaciers have shrunk by more than 85% since the early 1900s, reinforcing the importance of environmental awareness.
