Speaking during a seminar for pupils of Fountain Gate Schools, the Chief Executive Officer of Fountain Gate Academy, Madam Dorothee Courteuge, highlighted the value of this collaboration. “Why I allowed Roots & Shoots into our schools is because I believe they are good people. They provide education to students about plants and animals, and there is every reason to teach our students and instill this knowledge in their hearts. These students will become future leaders, so it is best to provide them with this education now, which will benefit them in the future.”

A pupil member of Roots & Shoots shared their experience from the Plant and Animal Care class, describing how the program has helped them understand the importance of nurturing living things. They expressed joy in learning practical ways to care for plants and animals, noting how this knowledge has changed the way they view the environment and their role in protecting it.

The Manager of Fountain Gate Foundation and International Relations, Mr. Tchalewa Ndeki, also spoke on the collaboration, stressing how the initiative will shape students’ understanding of the environment. He explained that this partnership equips pupils with the tools to develop a deeper appreciation for nature while encouraging them to become responsible citizens. He made these remarks following the seminar that engaged and inspired many students.

Experts from the Roots & Shoots Program in Dodoma commended Fountain Gate Foundation for its role in facilitating the project. The experts emphasized that through such partnerships, pupils gain not only knowledge but also the skills to take practical action in their schools and communities.

The program is supported by Fountain Gate Foundation, stands as a model for how schools can integrate environmental education into their curriculum to build a sustainable future.
