Embarking on an Exciting Study Tour to Mikumi 2025 Unveiling Adventure and Learning!

Today marks an exhilarating journey for our students as they set off on a remarkable study tour to Mikumi! The convoy departed at 12:30 A.M. on June 11, 2025, with high spirits and eager anticipation. These students are ready to explore and learn in an enriching environment, and there's no better backdrop than the stunning landscapes of Tanzania.

Discovering the Dodoma Parliament

Our first stop on this incredible itinerary was the Dodoma Parliament. Here, students had the unique chance to see firsthand how their government operates. They engaged in discussions about the legislative process and even had the opportunity to ask questions during a Q&A session with a member of parliament. This interaction helped students understand how they can participate in civic activities and advocate for their communities. Knowing that around 80% of citizens are unaware of how government decisions affect their daily lives, this visit instilled a sense of empowerment among the students.

Exploring the SGR Station Dodoma

Next on the agenda was the SGR Station in Dodoma. This modern marvel serves not only as a transportation hub but also as a testament to Tanzania's growth and innovation. Students were captivated by the architecture and engineering involved in constructing such a large-scale project. They learned that the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) project has the potential to boost Tanzania's GDP by over 1.5% by enhancing trade efficiency and connectivity. Engaging discussions on the significance of infrastructure development were both enlightening and inspiring for the students.

Engaging with the University of Dodoma

The University of Dodoma proved to be an unforgettable highlight of the tour. During their visit, students interacted with peers in various fields of study and attended a seminar led by a distinguished professor. This hands-on experience opened their eyes to diverse educational opportunities and the vibrant campus life. Many students expressed newfound aspirations for their academic paths, understanding that pursuing higher education can significantly impact their futures. For instance, they learned that students with a university degree typically earn 50% more over their lifetimes compared to those without.

Immersing in Nature at Mikumi National Park

The expedition culminates at Mikumi National Park in Morogoro. Renowned for its breathtaking wildlife and rugged terrain, Mikumi offers a unique opportunity for hands-on learning about biodiversity and conservation. Students will observe elephants, lions, and other native species in their natural habitat, fostering a deeper understanding of ecological balance. This experience also underscores the importance of environmental stewardship, with statistics indicating that more than 1 million species are at risk of extinction, highlighting the urgency of conservation efforts.

Building Connections and Valuable Life Lessons

As these students embark on this journey, they are not just absorbing knowledge; they are also forming lifelong bonds with each other. The shared experiences forge camaraderie and teamwork, qualities that go beyond academic settings and prepare them for future challenges. Collaborating on projects during the trip has already shown how teamwork can lead to greater creativity and problem-solving abilities.
