On 24th January 2026, Fountain Gate Academy Tabata held a significant parents meeting with the top school management team. The gathering aimed to discuss the challenges faced in 2025 and outline clear projections for the year ahead. This meeting brought together key figures including the school president, Mr. Japhet Makau, the principal Mr. Joseph Mjingo, the CEO of the sports academy, and heads of various departments such as Foundation, ICT, Transport, Auditing, and Facility management. The event was hosted by Mr. Karama Allafary, the head teacher of Fountain Gate Academy Tabata, who also served as the master of ceremonies.

Addressing Challenges from 2025
The meeting began with an honest review of the difficulties encountered during the previous year. Parents and management discussed issues related to facility maintenance, food quality, academic performance, hostel conditions, and transportation services. These challenges affected both students’ learning experiences and overall satisfaction.
For example, some parents raised concerns about the aging infrastructure, which sometimes disrupted daily activities. Others pointed out inconsistencies in meal quality and variety, which the school acknowledged as areas needing urgent attention. Transportation delays and limited routes also surfaced as a common concern among families relying on school buses.
Promises for Facility Renovations and Improvements
Mr. Japhet Makau, the school president, opened the meeting with a strong commitment to making substantial improvements in 2026. He assured parents that the school would invest in renovating classrooms, upgrading the hostel, and enhancing common areas to create a more comfortable and safe environment for students.
Specific plans include repainting classrooms, repairing broken furniture, and installing better lighting and ventilation systems. The hostel will receive upgrades such as improved bedding, better sanitation facilities, and enhanced security measures. These changes aim to support students’ well-being and academic focus.
Enhancing Food Quality and Academic Standards
Improving the quality of food served to students was a key agenda item. The school plans to introduce a new menu that offers balanced, nutritious meals prepared under stricter hygiene standards. Parents welcomed this move, emphasizing the importance of healthy eating for their children’s growth and concentration.
On the academic front, the principal, Mr. Joseph Mjingo, shared strategies to boost student performance. These include hiring additional qualified teachers, implementing more interactive teaching methods, and increasing access to learning resources such as computers and textbooks. The ICT department will support these efforts by upgrading technology infrastructure to facilitate digital learning.

Transportation and Other Support Services
Transportation improvements were also discussed in detail. The transport department head outlined plans to expand bus routes and schedules, reducing wait times and ensuring safer travel for students. Maintenance of vehicles will be more frequent to prevent breakdowns and delays.
Other departments, including auditing and facility management, will work closely to ensure transparency in resource allocation and timely completion of projects. This coordinated approach aims to build trust between parents and the school administration.
Moving Forward Together
The parents meeting ended on a hopeful note, with Mr. Karama Allafary thanking everyone for their participation and encouraging ongoing communication between families and the school. The shared goal is clear: to make 2026 a year of growth and improvement for Fountain Gate Academy.
